This park was formed after the famous freedom fighter of free India and the first Governor-General Sri C Rajagopalachari, known as Rajaji. Situated on a land of 820 km in the Shivalik range of the Himalayas, the park was formed in 198 by the confluence of three sanctuaries Rajaji(1948), Motichur (1964), and Chilla (1977).

Packed with a dense forest of Sal, Teak, and other shrubs, the park is well known for tigers, elephants, Leopard, and some other species. People should seek the wilderness and diversification of Himalayan lives here with a Jeep Safari or Elephant Safari arranged by the Forest Department. One can spot Tiger, Asian Elephants, King Cobra, Bear, Wild Boar, Monitor Lizard, Python, Panther, Chital, etc.

The park is open from November 15 to June 15. The park remains closed during the monsoon season.

Experience Wildlife Safari

Rajaji National Park Safari

Rajaji National Park is well known for wildlife safaris to see the wildlife well. Both jeep safaris and elephant safaris are organized here. People can do jeep safaris for 3 hours twice a day, from 6 AM to 9 PM and in the evening from 3 PM to 6 PM.

Elephant safari time is less than jeep safari. It can be done in just 45 minutes to 1 hour with three popular tuskers – Radha, Rangili, and Raja.
